Keep the exact model attached to each offer

GOV.UK's energy-information guidance identifies the product information sheet accompanying regulated appliances. Use the model reference on the actual offer and official documents so that a price comparison does not silently mix different variants. Similar names or front panels are not enough to establish identical specifications.

The close-up refrigerator badge illustrates that a brand is broader than a model. Save the complete reference and the seller's description of what is included. If the offer changes, update the record rather than carrying a previous price into a comparison for a different appliance.

List the services as separate rows

Create rows for the appliance, delivery, installation, removal and required accessories. Ask what each quoted service covers and what conditions must be ready before arrival. Do not assume that a single installation fee includes every change needed at the property or that removal is automatically included with delivery.

The dishwasher photograph shows an appliance with a door and racks that need practical access. It is context for why placement and installation are real parts of the decision, not evidence of a standard service requirement. The actual model and location determine which questions must be answered by the seller or installer.

Add the initial total without double-counting

For a hypothetical plan, £500 for the appliance, £20 delivery, £40 installation, £25 removal and £15 accessories total £600. The appliance itself represents about 83.3% of the total, leaving £100 in the other listed items. These are invented prices rather than current offers or a recommended spending allocation.

If an offer includes delivery in the appliance price, enter that delivery row as zero additional cost rather than adding the included value again. Keep a note explaining the zero so that it is not confused with an unresearched cost. The calculator on this site performs addition; it does not determine which services are necessary.

Keep operating costs outside the purchase total

Energy Saving Trust explains that washing and dishwasher labels include programme-based electricity information. Those values can support a separate estimate using your own tariff and planned use. Do not add an annual running-cost estimate to one offer while comparing it with the upfront price of another.

The washing-machine drum photograph illustrates the equipment whose programme scope must be identified. It is not a measured consumption result. If you want to compare costs over a period, state the period, usage, tariff and all included cost categories consistently, rather than presenting a lifetime total without support for those assumptions.

Compare equal scopes and save the quotation

Assume Offer A totals £600 after all five listed categories are included. Offer B is £570 for the appliance and includes the same confirmed services and accessories. On that hypothetical equal scope, B is £30 lower. If its services differ, the simple difference is incomplete until the missing items are priced.

Save dated quotations and the answers to any scope questions. A lower complete total still does not establish that the model fits the room, suits the routine or performs better. The useful result is a budget whose components can be checked, with unresolved items visible before the purchase decision is made.
